Now that it’s Labor Day weekend, let me talk about some of the work I do. You might have noticed in the official announcement of my appointment as your pastor, that I would continue as Episcopal Vicar for this Western Region of the Diocese. What’s that about? Frankly, it means I have another job! The Diocese pays part of my salary because I do that other job— good news to you. But, it means that sometimes I need to represent the Bishop to install a pastor (like last Sunday when I installed Fr. Carpenter at Resurrection) or help with the complicated business of parish planning (think of all the Vision 2030 talk) or support a community or priest in a time of crisis. You’re always my first responsibility, but we’re always a community of sisters and brothers in Christ—every parish, everywhere!
